I receive questions frequently because I'm doing something that is kind of "on the edge." I don't know why someone else hasn't considered this idea, but I'm happy to do it. Take a look at the questions I've received so far.
Where can I pick up a copy of this program?
Answer: The "Matchup" game program should be available at virtually every high school football game that takes place in the Salt Lake Valley. Somebody should be handing them out near the entrances to the stadiums. To see the list of games in which I will be providing the programs, click here.
I noticed your have not included Skyline home games on your list. Why not?
Answer: I contacted Skyline. I spoke to the school's athletic director, Mr. Steve Marlowe, and he suggested I speak to the director of their booster program. I left several messages, but never got a return call. I'd love to have Skyline be part of this "business." If you're a Skyline fan, and you like what I'm doing, perhaps you can get the ball rolling. Because I will be putting together the program for all of Skyline's away games (against other valley teams), I've placed them on this site and will be constantly be watching the team's progress.
I picked up a copy of your program during basketball sason last year when my school played at Hunter. You do a nice job. But why have you limited yourself to just the Salt Lake schools? We're here in Utah County. We could use a game program like this.
Answer: Thanks for your comments. Please give me time. I'm basically a one-man operation, and I don't know my limit. I started this idea late last fall and I got responses from just six schools. Now, we're at 24. Let's see what happens and we'll adjust accordingly.
I've been following high school sports in Utah for a long time. How come I've never heard of you?
Answer: That's understandable. I worked as a sportswriter for the Salt Lake Tribune from 1991-95. I left because I got married and discovered being a sportswriter and spending time with my wife didn't mix. I enjoyed covering high-school sports, but was eager to try a new career. I got back into it last year on a part-time basis and realized how much I had missed it. This is a way that I can have the best of both worlds.
